Privacy
Short version: everything you put into Grid Survivor stays on your phone. We don't have accounts, we don't track you, and we never see your location.
Last updated 2 November 2026.
Who we are
Grid Survivor is made by Marangoni Junior Limited, a company registered in England and Wales. For anything about your data, email [email protected].
What stays on your phone
Your location, routes, trails, waypoints, photos, group plan, contacts, medical cards and kit list are stored only on your device. The app does not send them anywhere. When you share something with another phone, it goes directly between the two devices by QR code or your phone's own share sheet (AirDrop, Quick Share) — not through us.
Location
The app uses GPS to show where you are and to guide you to waypoints. Location is processed on the device and never leaves it. You choose how often the app checks your position, and you can turn it off.
Email updates (optional)
If you choose to sign up for updates, we store your email address, the date you agreed, your language, your platform (iOS or Android) and the app version. We use this only to send product news and new region announcements. We send a confirmation email first, and every email has an unsubscribe link. You can also turn updates off in the app's settings. Our legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Emails are sent through a mail provider acting on our behalf. Subscriber data is stored on servers run by our hosting provider. We don't sell or share your email with anyone else.
Purchases
You buy the app through the App Store or Google Play. Apple and Google handle payment; we don't receive your payment details or your name.
This website
gridsurvivor.app uses no tracking cookies and no third-party analytics. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security, for a short time.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the data we hold about you (which can only ever be your email subscription). Email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Deleting your data
Settings → Delete all data removes everything the app has stored on your phone. Uninstalling the app does the same.
